About the Event


If there ain't food, drink, & music, it ain't a celebration. Black Banjo Reclamation Project is a creative eco-system that curates musical, cultural and land-based healing opportunities for Black, Afro-Diasporic communities to work with the banjo as a tool for reclaiming ancestral wisdom & crafting Afro-futures. couchdate is a Black & Brown owned, Oakland based Hifi Bar & Community Space. Together with Chef Christian Washington of Comfort Collective, we are so proud to offer a night of exactly that - food, drink & music.




couchdate will be spinning vinyl records that show the diverse sounds of the African Diaspora, everything from Rhiannon Giddens, to African funk, to Candomble music.
