About the Event

BBRP is partnering with the American Indian Center in Chicago to bring you an expansive space to learn, create, reflect, and experience the deep connection these instruments carry across communities for generations.

WORKSHOPS SOLD OUT!

Join us for the evening portion of the event that begins at 5 p.m. with a panel discussion exploring Black and Native shared histories, the connections between our communities, and the cultural journeys of the drum and banjo. Together, these conversations will look at how music carries memory, survival, adaptation, and relationship, while creating space to reflect on histories that are too often overlooked or separated from one another.

At 6 p.m., the day will conclude with a performance that brings those histories into living expression through rhythm, sound, and story.

Please note that workshop tickets are separate from tickets for the panel discussion and performance.

Join us for a day grounded in making conversation…
